Black humor is not a new concept – introduced in 1953 by the French surrealist Andre Breton, it involved jokes, including topics considered taboo or difficult to discuss, but also often with a touch of irony.
A very good example will be the writing of Shakespeare, who saw very tragic moments with a lighter side. And now, we have Mr. Lovenstein, who is also known for his dark humor combined with simple cartoony designs.
Mr. Lovenstien (JL Westover – full name) is the mastermind behind the illustrations that most arouse surprises as a result of their unexpected endings.
