For the founder of ‘Best of Nextdoor,’ the project isn’t about the cash—it’s about the laughs. Or rather, sharing them with as many people as she can. Last year, Jenn would get around 50 submissions to look through each day and would narrow those down to the very best. Her rule of thumb is to look for peculiar stories that have funny and lighthearted elements to them. Anything that borders too much on the gritty side of realism is out of the question.
