Nature's Texture

While some people look up and enjoy the beauty of fall colours, I often look down and see what has collected on the ground. I have discovered that fall is as much about textures as it is about about colour. On one walk last fall, I found this overturned maple leaf and through my Sigma 105mm macro, was was struck by the texture created by the vascular bundles- the veins that transport water and nutrients to the leaf. The while pattern looked like urban sprawl. And then in some places the textures were enlarged by water drops, an example of something breaking the pattern to add even more interest to the image.
