The day is lending itself well, Sunday September 13th, it will be hot. Enough to energize cyclists who will ride naked in the streets of Paris as part of the World Naked Bike Ride "for the respect of the environment and the release of carbon energies; for the development of soft urban transport; for the respect of the freedom to be ... even naked! "
This event, which will also take place in Rennes (editor's note: the event was banned in Lyon due to the passage of the Tour de France) will consist according to the organizers "in a movement, festive, family and peaceful by bike, rollerblades, skateboard or scooter" .
Ecological demands
The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international ride in which participants ride together on human-powered means of transport, to “give a vision of a cleaner, safer and more positive world”, and with clothing optional in order to express "the fragility of man in the face of road traffic, the climate emergency and the 6th animal extinction".
The impetus was given in 2001 by the Coordinadora de Colectivos Ciclonudistas d'Aragon (Spain) by calling for cyclonudist events in cities around the world, usually during the month of June. These demonstrations have been held every year for the past 18 years, in nearly 100 cities and nearly 30 countries, naked, to protest against oil addiction and to celebrate the capabilities of the human body.
At the beginning of the movement, the object of the WNBR was mainly focused on the development of city traffic and all its negative effects. But with the ecological emergency, the message has widened.
In Paris, the organizers are campaigning in particular for an increase in the number of cycle paths.
