Hi Pandas, I really want your input. This happened last summer and it still weighs on my mind. My husband and I stopped by my cellular phone store to pick up a charger. It was one of the biggest cellular companies. I bought it for $42.and change. It was a Sunday. These details become very important in a bit.
My husband (70's) and I (60'sF) went about our day. Later a week or two afterwards my husband calls me at work and asks me about a charge on our credit card bill. I told him how to check to see what the charge is, if it's not clear.
He said "I did, that's why I'm calling. Somethings not right." I"I was with you that day, look at the place it says the charge occurred"
I quickly found out the charge of $42 and change, same day I purchased the charger (it was the charger purchase) instead of coming up on the credit card bill for the phone store, came up as the motel down the road a mile or so away!
I was livid!
I called the phone company and they said the salesman lived at the motel and must have used his square to swipe the card. I called corporate and they said "Oh its not really our store, it's an independent store. But the company name is in huge red letters everywhere!
Regardless of who/what/why I am so glad my husband knows me, trusts me! He even joked if I were to go to a motel it would be a $200 a night hotel not the place listed which is known as a very disreputable place in our town.
But I called everyone, even my credit card company and No one thought it strange!!
My point is, what if . . . I were a woman with an abusive or jealous husband, or a man with an abusive or jealous wife!!
People have been abused, even killed for less than this!!
Honestly I even called the local news. Nothing. I maybe making a big deal out of nothing but I can't help worrying that some woman will innocently buy an item there one day and walk in the door to a nightmare at home! Pandas what do you think?
