I hand draw these fantastical drawings that depict complex, interconnected 2D + 3D spaces, highlighting the intricate relationships of household objects and human activity. My background in architecture contributes to my creative ability to conjure architecture with which to generate a story; one that cascades across the page compelling the viewer's eye to meander and get lost within the drawing.
Each drawing took approximately 80 hours to complete. "Here Is The House" was created first, based off the poem of the same name by Kenn Nesbitt. "346/348 Arbuthnot Street" was a commissioned piece for a young couple, Myles & Maddie, wishing to commemorate their first apartment they owned together. Some parts of the exterior, their apartment unit (bottom left, second floor), a tree, and someone receiving a hair cut (to pay tribute to Myles' late father who was a barber) were the only personal details to be included. The rest was drawn from pure imagination.
