My Girlfriend Learned How To Decorate Cakes By Herself, Here's Her Progress Over The Years (24 Pics)

Everyone likes cakes which not only taste good but also look awesome. Nowadays the cake decoration is an art in itself, and everyone is wondering about the products of confectioners.

My girlfriend also is a fan of these awesome cakes, so she tried to create similar stuff at home for birthdays and other family celebrations. It was a long way, but she's making a progress in it, and I decided to show some of her work.

Self-education is always the harder way and in the beginning, she had almost no tools so we began with little steps like how to peel the marzipan from the kneading board, and so on.

The water is made from jelly, the sand is brown sugar and crumbs. Other figures are fondant.

These cakes are not perfect, but they are all made with a little bit of her heart and soul. Also, as stated in the title, I wanted to show the progress.

Of course, the marzipan figurines are from the store. The collection is ranging from simple Oreo biscuit-based cream cakes (not baked but frozen) to muffins/cupcakes and real sponge cake dough cakes, covered with fondant and marzipan, and some gingerbread cookies.

Pictures are not perfect as I'm not good at food photography, and back at the beginning of the 2010s, I haven't thought that I will post funny cakes on Bored Panda in 2020. Sometimes there were times where we had no time to arrange a perfect tabletop studio for the cakes.

Of course, this post is not only to show cakes, but it is also for people who don't think they can do something like this themselves. You can, just try it!
