My First Newborn Photo Shoot Vs. My Most Recent

I have been a photographer my whole life, I have photographed just about everything, from new life to the celebration after. When I had my first daughter in 2012, I thought "newborn photography wont be hard".
First of all, I don't recommend doing anything after you have your first child. I had NO idea how my pain I would be in after natural child birth. (no one warns you, but be warned, it is far from pleasant.)
Secondly, newborns are great.. when your not trying to photograph them. Also it actually takes a lot of equipment and props to achieve cute studio newborn photos! Like.. i dunno.. at MINIMUM a grand worth and that's just for a few BASIC things like posing bags and soft cute posing blankets.
After a very painful and not so successful newborn photo shoot of my daughter, I decided to not do newborn photography. I ended up attempting to do newborns here and there over the last 5 years. I'm still and always will be learning more.
Now I finally have a good size home studio office and am able to spend more time working with newborns. It certainly isn't easy, but it's worth it, and oddly I like the challenge.
If you're thinking about photographing newborns I would suggest you do a lot of research and take some seminars or classes.
