My husband and I are both geeks and we wanted to celebrate with a truly epic, fun and geeky wedding! I was walked down the aisle by Darth Vader along with my daughter dressed as Elsa, a Storm Trooper and my maid of honour in a female "Thor" inspired dressed. As we walked in to The Wedding March, Darth Vader commanded the DJ to stop the music and switch it to The Imperial March.
In a Spider-Man and Wonder Woman inspired gown and suit, we exchanged vows as I wrapped my "lasso of truth" around the groom. Our Ring Bearer was R2-D2 and when our officiant asked if anyone in the crowd objected, we had "Ace Ventura" come in and interrupt the ceremony! Complete shenanigans!
Our Best Man was "Doctor Strange" (notably portrayed by Marvel comic book artist Geof Isherwood, a friend of ours!) and we an officiant who dressed up as Agent Carter!
We were escorted out through an archway of light sabers by Ace Ventura and proceeded to a fun-filled reception where we served superhero themed cake pops and our fabulous geeky cake - all white and "traditional" on one side but superhero themed on the other!
What an epic way to celebrate our love AND our geekiness!
