After meeting the Ukrainian artist Ivan Tishchenko, I wanted to introduce you to his creative research. You can get acquainted with the artist's inner world through his paintings. Can you decipher them? What message do they carry to the world? Write your impressions under the article in the comments.
Ioann is a warrior artist who has gone through many trials along the way. Life can sometimes stop very abruptly. What must be done in time to contribute to a peaceful life, what information to pass on to future generations and modern audiences?
The answer to the central question, "What is the meaning of life?" seems obvious to John; he wonders why no one understands it...
Some of his creative projects that he realized were aimed at helping people who wanted to cope with difficulties in various spheres and to start a new happy journey. His practices help to overcome the self of the "past".
The artist's interests are very diverse. Sometimes you can find him in the Carpathian Mountains, at an exhibition in a museum or on the Kozatsky seagulls (these are small ancient boats made on the analogy of the boats of Ukrainian soldiers) on the river Dnieper.
Recently he told me how at a yoga class everyone was talking on their mats and engaged him in dialogue, and he was immersed in other worlds did not understand why a dialogue with the group and distracted from the practice.
Ioann, as a true creator, sees his images clearly and there is no need for additional practices or rituals of spirituality. The universe has no keys or locks for the artist. He lives in that universe. The images he sees are very easy to transfer to the canvas. He says that there is nothing like a well stretched canvas, then the canvas itself helps the painting, the weaving of the threads and the tension are the most important helpers.
He is always interested in whether viewers can "decipher" his message and is a little disappointed when they can't.
Most of all the idea of his paintings is concentrated on creating space and harmony of the viewer in the space of his painting. A lot of work he puts into it sometimes after a while he changes them, completes them. He considers that he has changed and is willing to change his painting to fit the experience.
Sometimes we talk and argue about "should the viewer be told stories of paintings, stories of creative reflections, interesting stories of the artist's life?" Very often he disagrees because a painting can be understood by someone who has experienced similar things, who goes the same way, or by someone who understands space. How much becomes accessible to empathy? Perhaps your visual experience will be the main help in getting to know the work of Ivan Tishchenko (Ioann Art).
