Mesmerizing New Worlds: The Power Of Reflection

I've been taking photos for years. I’ve always had a passion for the cinema, and as such, my perspective has typically favored the cinematic. However, I utilize journalistic techniques in order to create my images. I like to think of my image creation process as similar to the structure of jazz music- frequently spontaneous, though wholly intentional. I’m an observer behind the lens. Owing to this duality, my images are honest in nature, though cinematic in their scope and implied narratives.
I've always been a night-owl, and as such my style has leaned towards long nighttime exposures. This manner of photography imbues many of images with an ethereal glow, allowing them to be real yet simultaneously surreal. I've found that even when I shoot daylight photography, I always process my images in such a way that the colors are almost supernatural.
As I continue exploring the spontaneous honesty I find behind my lens, I’ve begun allowing my images to continue their evolution even after their initial capture. To me, this signifies a logical progression as an artist. Having begun as a student of the moving image and progressed to a focus on the jarring nature of the still image, I now find it important to more directly engage the contrast between the static and the moving image and the distinct sensations derived from each.
I am constantly moved by the new worlds and realities I am able to create, simply by reflecting the "real" world upon itself. It's pure imagination come to life.
