#21 Husband’s Bedside Table That I Am Making A Point Of Not Doing For Him

On a smaller scale, an increasing number of women and single mothers have been opting to live in female-only households. Known as "mommunes," these have been popping up around the world. Mommune.com defines a "mommune" as two or more women sharing resources and responsibilities to more efficiently care for themselves and their children. Today.com defines it as a group of women raising their kids together without the assistance of adult males.
Bernie Sinclair lives in a mommune, along with her friend Anabelle Gonzalez and their three children. She says it has nothing to do with man-bashing or hating men.
"I've never wanted to live with a man. From my perspective, it is additional labor that is put on the woman, and I feel like that builds resentment in the house," Sinclaire explains. "This isn't because I hate men. It's because I don't think socially we're in a place where it is equitable for a woman to be a wife."
She adds that the living arrangement also benefits her sons. While they still see their father regularly, Sinclaire hopes that mommune life can teach them to have a better appreciation of household equity, maintenance, emotional attunement and conflict resolution.
