My name is James R. Petix, I'm a filmmaker and a Cat Man. Every week I post a new adventure video where I visit rescue sanctuaries, cat cafes, and art exhibits to help spread awareness of animals in need. Each video takes about thirty hours to shoot and edit. This is on top of my freelance editing career. Sure, its a lot of work, but I get to meet and pet the cutest furry creatures along the way!
I grew up with cats, but it wasn't until I was a single guy in my 30s that I fully became a Cat Man. I was obsessed with my rescue cat, Fin and filled my phone and social media with pictures of her. At the encouragement of my friends I started up her own Instagram @finforthewin. To my surprise the account became popular very quickly and I found myself more and more involved with the cat community at large. I started going to charity events like the Kitten Rescue Furball and meetups like CatCon where I started to meet other cat-fluencers in person. I really admired the people spent their free time trying to save and rescue cats and kittens and wanted to give back in what ever way possible. I knew with my background in marketing and film making that I probably had the skills to get their message across to more people.
It took a long time before I finally gathered enough courage to step in front of the camera and share my adventures with the world. Now that I've gotten accustomed to the format, I am posting a new video every week! In addition to all the cat-centric stories I also have videos showcasing my other interests such as Disneyland, pinball, Tiki culture and veganism.
Hopefully you enjoy watching these videos as much as I did making them. I can't wait to show you all the amazing events and animals I've discovered and documented.
