The famous family photos are also highly reproduced with pets, because they are also part of it, right? However, pets can be a little unpredictable and we won't always be able to get the expected result of the perfect photo. This puppy is an example of this, by "spoiling" all the photos that his owner tries to take of him along with his brothers.
I talked a little with its owner to find out more about this beautiful family!
1-How did these adorable dogs appear in your life?
It’s a long story:
3 months after Kikko (the red Shiba) was born in Japan 9 years ago, she came to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, the original owner didn’t have experience with dogs, he gave her away to a friend within 1 month. It didn’t end there, the friend gave her back due to relocation, she was then transferred to 2 other families in the next 1 month and it also didn’t work out. We adopted this little lovely Shiba when she was 5 months old. We were her 5th family within 2 months. We named her Kikko, my nick name when I was a kid.
I used to dislike dogs, but Kikko changed me. She was simply so lovely and become an important member of our family. Guess what? I asked my husband for another Shiba for my next birthday, that’s how we got Sasha (the Black Shiba) from the same breeder in Japan, then Momo (Black) and Hina (White) came a year after Sasha. The 4 are all girls.
2- How did you come up with the idea of always photographing them together?
-We started photographing Kikko just like any other pet lovers. She was amazingly obedient and would sit there to allow us to take photos of her until we said “OK”. When Sasha arrived as a puppy, I guess she simply followed the big sister, Kikko and sit with Kikko for the photo sessions. Momo and Hina did the same. It was part of our fun things to take photos for them, with different poses.
3- Was it difficult to organize them for the photographs?
-Not really, as mentioned, they simply follow Kikko. We normally have Kikko in the position first, then Sasha, Momo and Hina who is always the last one to join. We started to give them treat after photographing, we still do now but not all the time. They always stay there until we say OK. It normally takes less than 1 min to have the pose ready.
4- I see that the white dog is always the funniest in the photos, can you tell us more about him?
-Hina (girl) is actually the most obedient one among the 4, she always follows us and would sit to wait for us if we are behind them too far away. She loves other dogs and would always goes up to greet other dogs, but she is also the shy one to strangers (human). She has a habit of yawning during photo sessions. Also she is quite alert to strangers walking by or noises around her, that was why sometime she gets airplane ears or other funny looks on her face.
5-Tell us a little about yourself, what is your profession, how important these dogs are to your daily life and where you are from.
-I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan, moved to Hong Kong in 1999 and started my yoga practice 14 years ago, now a yoga instructor in Hong Kong. My 4 dogs always brighten my day by making me smile and happy no matter what.
6- if you can add something else that you want our readers to know, feel free!
-These four girls have brought a lot of happiness to our family. Over all these years, they have never fought with each other. They play with each other at home all the time. We are so happy that their photos have given so much joys to others. We will continue to post their photos and to share our happiness with the others.
Note: Nowadays Yoko Kikuchi has no contract with any agency, so we can use any image.
