The news you have all been waiting for!
Talenthouse is excited to announce the winners, finalists and highest voted for the Quiksilver DC Creative Invite with Talenthouse.
Artists from around the world were invited to customise the new DC Trase Shoe for the chance that their design would be produced and sold by DC. This truly life changing opportunity inspired over 1,800 entries and some of the best creative work we have seen.
We were delighted to see designs including an octopus, skeleton bones, the galaxy, watermelon, parrot and many more that bought a smile to us here at Talenthouse. However the judges settled on a neon plant titled ‘Healing of the Nations’ by an artist from Mexico City called Ese Izhi.
Ese will now have his work produced and receive $10,000.
We understand there has been a lot of commentary around this Creative Invite and will update you soon with a statement on why his design was selected.
Community Choice (Highest Voted)
In addition to the one overall winner, there was also a chance for an artist with the highest number of votes to receive a cash amount $2,500. With the most votes, talented artist Ognen Trpeski from Paramus, US won the title of highest voted and $2,500 with his entry “The New DC Era.”
Finalists
The DC Shoe judges’ top finalists that were in the running for the lead spot with their designs were Laura Acevedo from Medellin, Colombia and her entry “Free Player” along with Rik Reimert from Varel, Germany and his entry “Crosshatch.”
