Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors and nurses around the world have been put under extreme pressure and stress. Out of 1,938,270 active cases worldwide, 56,252 people are currently in serious or critical condition, left under the care of doctors who are fighting to save them. Being at the front line of the pandemic is forcing doctors to put their own health on the line to help others. Yet despite being overworked, tired, and emotionally exhausted, with many of them self-isolating away from family members, they continue to do what they do best—save lives.

Because of their heroic actions, medical professionals deserve our appreciation, thus prompting many wholesome initiatives to express how grateful we are. Some help by donating much-needed medical supplies; others are participating in "Clap for Carers" tributes.

Artists have joined the cause too. Recently, one tribute dedicated to honoring all frontline doctors as our heroes went viral. The artwork created by Lidija Milovanovic, who is a senior art director at McCann Beograd, portrays medical carers with imprints of superhero masks on their faces.
