I Drew Animals As War Machines Out Of Hundreds Of Parts

Mechanicals - Beasts of War is a series of illustrations I made during Inktober, 2016.

Since I was participating for the first time, coming up with concepts daily was a challenge. Studying animal forms and their characteristics played a major role in this series. My initial sketches were mostly about vehicles, but slowly I got fascinated by war machines and started incorporating animals, birds and also insects into it.

Nature has always inspired me all along. I like learning about wildlife and their habitat. I tried to depict the mechanism of each character according to its attributes.

For example - Mosquitoes are known for sucking blood, hence I tried to make a mosquito fuel carrier machine that drills and sucks fuel underground.
