Our 14 Cute Messages Hidden In Matchboxes That We Made During Quarantine

It usually takes us about 15 minutes to create a matchbox from scratch. Of course, this is because we are very used to making a lot of them. First, you have to do the drawing and coloring. Then comes the cutting and sticking part. It's not difficult, but you have to be a bit creative and meticulous!

With that being said, our co-founder mentioned that all of this started out as a hobby, "I just loved drawing and making little silly creations from things that I found at home as a kid."

I personally like the "I'd share my roll with you" most because although it sounds a bit silly, it actually holds true to me. During the onset of covid, there were all sorts of challenges and shortages. Even a simple thing like a toilet roll would seem so precious. It was just something we took for granted during normal times, and having someone to share a roll with you was really special!

I actually work on the business side more while two of my friends (co-founders) work on the creative side. I think the best part is being able to come up with a new creation that can resonate with a lot of people. In particular, something that can put a smile on people's face.

Well, just being able to do what I like and express my creative side is already a great pleasure. It also motivates me a lot to see other people appreciate our work and that it resonates with them. It's great to see how art can bring completely different people together.

Believe it or not, nowadays the most challenging part is actually getting the blank matchboxes in the first place. People no longer use matchboxes anymore so it's already hard to get a hold of one. Then we also don't want to buy a real matchbox and throw the matches away, so we had to negotiate with the supplier to just make blank matchboxes to avoid waste. Other than that, the making part is quite fun!
