What is Marvel Known for?
First and foremost, Marvel is an American comic book publisher which was founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman. At the time, the company was known as Timely Comics, later changing its name to Atlas Comics. The Marvel era for Atlas Comics began around 1961 with the launch of The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by the legendary Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and others.
