The Moscow-based makeup artist Oksana Trunova and hairstylist Olga Tarasova have been putting the smiles back on women’s faces when they want a change but have no idea where to start. The duo started “blind makeovers” five years ago, and their online fanbase has since grown to 32,700 Instagram followers.
The idea came after Oksana, who previously worked in a beauty salon, had women tell her to "do something" that would alter their looks but “they didn’t know what they wanted.” Today, Oksana and Olga enjoy seeing the eyes of their happy clients who just underwent a dramatic transformation. “We are not only stylists, we are also psychologists,” the makeup artist told Bored Panda in an interview that you can read in full below.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Oksana said that she adores everything about her work. “It’s like a hobby to me, my favorite thing without which I could never imagine myself.” The makeup artist and founder of the Oksana Trunova Academy said that the thing which touches her the most in makeovers is the “happy eyes of our clients.”

When it comes to a specific transformation, Oksana explained that she always talks to her client before they start the transformation procedure, so that the makeup artist can get to know them better. There’s no universal look that would fit every woman and Oksana assured us that “the makeup for each participant is individual.”

“We take into account the participant’s lifestyle, age, personality.” In this way, Oksana said, “we are no longer simply stylists,” they become “psychologists.”

The feedback from women who underwent the transformation always brings Oksana and her colleague Olga to tears. “People change not only externally, but also internally,” the makeup artist said.
