Every human has his own unique story where one’s life seems to be the center of everything, and one’s problems seem to be the biggest on Earth. But have you ever thought how small and invisible we are among those other 6.893 billion people who live in our world? Street artist Slinkachu is here to remind us of this.
You’ve probably already seen these little art installations more than once as the project started back in 2006, so we thought it’s high time to look at the best moments in the lives of these tiny people. Just in case you didn’t know yet, Slinkachu is a cool artist based in London (a former art director) who now creates tiny street art in public places in the form of miniature figurines, then photographs and abandons them – to be discovered by no-doubt bemused passers-by. Slinkachu carefully paints his diorama figures (the same kind used in model train sets) and plans how his public art interacts with the surroundings nearby.
“The street-based side of my guerilla art plays with the notion of surprise, and I aim to encourage city-dwellers to be more aware of their surroundings. The scenes I set up, more evident through the photography and the titles I give these scenes, aim to reflect the loneliness and melancholy of living in a big city, almost being lost and overwhelmed,” said the artist.
Now it’s time to start scrolling down the list, and we hope this Slinkachu’s unique art and funny sculptures will make you think and smile too. This macro photography series really gives you a sense of just how small his works are!
