Engraving makes a regular item personal and one of a kind. California-based artist Mike Ward specializes in a specific type of engraving that looks satisfying not only when finished, but whilst it's being burned onto the leather as well. It's called foil engraving, and the magic happens when an artist outlines the design with a pre-heated foil pen that makes the material stick to the surface. Combine it with gorgeous calligraphy and you're left with a pure eyegasm.
