Lamayuru Monastery is one of the oldest and largest monastery of Ladakh but is also well known for Moonlike landscapes carved into the greater himalayas.
It is situated at the height of 11,520ft, exactly midway between Kargil & Leh and mostly a picture point for tourists travelling from Kargil to Leh.
