I am always trying to figure out ways to keep my grandson, Henry, occupied. I remember 22 years ago when my twins were born.
I already had a toddler, and a husband who was rarely there. He worked and played a lot. Anyway, I had to find ways to keep all of us occupied. We painted, we danced, we sang, we made drums out of pots and pans.
I know most people do that at some point, but my own mother didn't like the mess. I love a mess! That's when the creative moments come! So I add a bit more gusto to this, by repeating simple, but steady drumbeats, and he really does copy me! And of course, I then let him do his own thing and I am able to get something done.
