6 Hours In Hell On Earth: Kawah Ijen Volcano

Kawah Ijen volcano (Java, Indonesia) - an active, largest highly acidic and toxic crater lake in the world.
Everyday local miners bring around 200 kg of sulphur up to the crater and then another 3 km down to village, earning around $15/day. Each load weights around 70-80 kg, so they make 3 trips a day. All just using bare hands and bamboo baskets.
It's extremely toxic and the hardest work I've ever seen. And somehow they still manage to smile.
I've spend 6 hours on this hell on earth, managing only 20 minutes using gas mask to stay close to the mine. While miners work 24/7.
