I've dealt with a lot of hostile, entitled individuals in my 40yrs on this earth,BUT the one living next door to me truly takes the cake! My family and I have lived in our quaint little townhome for over a year...and we love it! However, beside us in her own townhome is my neighbor from hell. I've called her Karen, although that is not her real name, since the very first day we moved in. Our moving truck was apparently in front of the porch we share for too long. It wasn't blocking her parking area nor her front door, it was just sitting there too long. We should have moved in faster than what we did. She let me know this with a taped note on my front door the next morning, along with the demand that my children keep it down. A month later she confronted my husband and I outside in the driveway and again demanded that we stop smoking inside our home. Our lease says nothing on the topic of indoor smoking. She took her complaint to the landlord to which he told her unless she pays our rent, we can smoke if we want. This enraged her and she returned to threaten me with social services. She swore she'd get my children taken from me because my husband and I smoke cigarettes. It was about 2 months later that we had to get a contract with Orkin to rid our home of roaches. The exterminator explained to us that since we didn't have them in the beginning it had to be the attached neighbor.... Karen. And yeah, several days later we witnessed six bug bombs on her side of the porch. And to this day Orkin comes once a month to spray a barrier up because Karen still has them. Unfortunately, ever so often one escapes to our side. I loath them but not as much as I do her.
The most recent incident occurred last Friday, when I realized that "someone" had purposely wheeled my Kirby garbage cans behind to our back deck, causing us to miss the garbage pickup for that week. I had pulled them to the road that Thursday evening for Friday morning. Some time that early morning the @$$hole moved them back! I know it was Karen, because there's no one else that would be that callus. She is, in fact, our only enemy as we get along fine with the other surrounding neighbors. I'm so upset that she's resulted to touching my personal property and causing two weeks of garbage to pile up in and outside my home. I am a very clean person so the added garbage is driving me crazy. My side of the outside porch is landscaped and very nice while she tosses garbage out her door to lay in the grass. I want to confront her about the garbage cans BUT my husband insists that I drop the matter. He says I'm better than that. I know she did it to get a rise out of me. She does little things often to make me mad but I have ignored her. I have to add that she's pregnant again with her 3rd child so if I did confront her there would be no violence....lol. Not that I'm the violent type but a person can only take so much disrespect. Honestly though, I would never hit her....I choose to do my fighting with words and research. I figure eventually she'll do something that merits a call to our local police department and charges pressed. The entitlement this woman has is ridiculously insane. I wish I had a way to show y'all just how far she's taken this. I refuse to move! I will not leave my happy home and uproot my family because of this "Karen". But I am very curious as to how other's would handle this situation...and I'm open to any suggestions you may have on the subject. Thank you and many blessings to you and yours. ☺️
