Jude joined our family in December of 2019. A friend who operates a sanctuary contacted us about him after he was left at a nearby shelter. His name was Benji, and he was terrified of everything. He had been purchased for ten dollars at an auction and was eventually left at the shelter because he would not hunt. His picture was heartbreaking, so we decided to bring him home. We named him Jude, hoping that we could take his sad song and make it better. Jude wouldn't eat in front of us, and he slid his tummy on the ground when he moved. He was awkward around doors and steps, as if he didn't know how to manage them. Jude eventually found comfort in our three other beagles and our children. He became one of the pack, following our dogs and daughters everywhere. Now, he dances when sees his leash and snuggles with the pack at night. We are so grateful to have Jude. He is loved. He is home.
