In other words, social media sites are currently used by almost half of the world's population. Moreover, this number is constantly growing—throughout the year of 2019, the number of social media users rose by 321 million!

Even though social networking sites provide their users with plenty of benefits, there's also another and a much darker side to these websites. For instance, social media sites are sometimes seen as a place where everyone's constantly comparing themselves to others, where a person's worth is based on the number of likes they get, and a place that promotes unrealistic beauty standards.
