South Korea’s “Roller Barrier System” uses spinning plastic cylinders to absorb crash impacts and save lives. Developed by ETI, the elastic copolymer rollers convert hard shock into rotational energy. When a vehicle hits the guardrail, the barrels spin, smoothly guiding the car forward along the rail. This prevents vehicles from flipping over, breaking through, or bouncing back into active highway lanes.
