Last week, the insanely adorable Waffles the Memory Foam Corgi launched on Kickstarter.
They reached their $7,500 goal on Kickstarter in 8 hours! Gosh, I can see why. Waffles has the cutest face and form for a plushie. He is functional as a pillow because of his memory foam cushion.
Waffles, launched by a student couple at the University of Texas at Austin, is perfect for pet owners who cannot bring their pets to work or vacation and for dog lovers who cannot have pets because of their living or financial situation.
Sherrill Feng, one of the cofounders, explains, "This idea stemmed from my plushies constantly losing shape after being used as pillows."
"We wanted to create a plush and pillow hybrid that is functional, but very cute," said Andy, the other cofounder.
They spent the beginning of 2017 validating their idea and finding a supplier. Prior to the campaign launch, they spent their Spring Break building connections with corgi owners and generating buzz around Waffles.
