The rainy season has arrived, and there are thunderstorms everywhere. The deafening thunder, terrifying lighting, powerful winds, and torrential rains will force you to stay inside your home. But for me, this phenomena is a fantastic chance to get some pictures of amazing lightning strikes. Recently, as I was getting ready to go to sleep, I kept hearing loud thunderclaps, and as I looked out the window, I saw flashing lights from the lightning.
I measured the time between lightning discharges and found that it was roughly every 40 seconds, so I grabbed my camera and tripod and ran outside to assess the storm to determine where I should position my camera for a better view of the lightning. I immediately began snapping pictures. Watching the lightning strikes flash across the sky was both a little frightening and incredibly satisfying.
