My name is Christine. I'm a 23 year old female living with Autism. I am high-functioning in the academic setting, but low-functioning in other avenue, like socialization and independent living. Last year I fostered a cat named Moose for 5 months and I found significant improvement in my lifestyle. I was able to leave the house more, socialize more effectively, and complete more household tasks. Once Moose found a home and I returned to life without him, I realized the true impact that he had on my Autism.
I began working with local hospitals and community organizations to bring service animals around to interact with kids with Autism. I once again saw the life-changing impact that these animals had on the children's well-being. Many of the parents expressed interest in having a similarly trained animal for their child, though could not afford to have one of their own.
I have been raising money this year to provide service animals to children with autism in my community. I have been doing fundraisers and just set up a GoFundMe. I'm changing lives one child at a time!
