I have always aimed to keep my designs as simple as possible, striving to make good use of negative space. My visual style is heavily influenced through my love of retro film posters, particularly the artwork of iconic film director Wes Anderson. His bold use of block colour and strong typefaces set his work apart from others.
In early 2013 I spotted a gap in the infographics market. There were limited designs on offer and the ones available were quite dated. I decided to experiment by combining my style with current trends in web and User Experience Design (UXD) which is where the inspiration for the colour palettes and layout came from.

The world is full of wonderful, weird and intriguing facts. People don’t always know where to go to find all this incredible knowledge even though it’s publicly available. Usually it’s hidden in lengthy data reports or studies where you have to go through loads of information before you get to the interesting parts.
Once all the statistics have been delved through you spot some really interesting trends, particularly between countries around the world.
People often have a fixed idea of how they perceive things in other nations versus their own, but the indexes I have used to create my artwork reveal some contentious discoveries that would surprise anyone.

For example, the Happy Planet map I made for MoveHub showed that South America was generally the cheeriest place on earth!
One of the most shared infographics was The Eco Experts Climate Change Survival Map which showed that much of the southern hemisphere was highly at risk in the event of a climate change apocalypse.
Drawing comparisons like these are not only educational but also stir big discussions across the globe.
