Illustrator Yvonne Page and I are teaming up to make a coloring book that tells the stories of some amazing women doing work in a wide range of science fields. I'm writing the stories and she is drawing the illustrations.
"Super Cool Scientists" will feature careers in areas from computer animation to primatology (the study of primates like monkeys and lemurs). You can do science at a lab bench, through a computer, or in the rainforest. The women are also business owners, adoptive parents, artists, and mentors paying it forward to the next generation of scientists.
We want to feature the full diversity of the dynamic women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to show young people that these careers are for everyone and that the job dress code can include more than a white lab coat.
