I went to Iceland in search of their wild horses, to photograph the raw and rugged beauty I had heard so much about.
What I found instead was an incredibly serene creature, a gentle beast.

With 100km/h + winds raging in from the ocean
And impassable mountains
The horses were so calm and relaxed
Even stoic
And always curious about me
Or striking a pose
Even when they were a little preoccupied...
What really surprised me the most though, was their softness
Unlike the American mustangs I've photographed in the past
It is said a rider can drink a pint while riding, without spilling a drop
