Hi, my name is Brenda Li. I'm from Vancouver, Canada. I used to do visual effects for movies like Transformers, Tron and Thor. I later wanted to manifest my own creative vision, so I have decided to start my own comic blog in 2012. I started submitting my work to different newspapers, got rejected a million times. I wasn't about to give up, why? I don't know... submitting is free anyways, haha. Fortunately enough, an editor gave me a chance. Soon, I have become an overseas cartoon columnist for a well-known local newspaper in Hong Kong. I have a full time job in broadcast motion design. Everyday after work, after playing with my son, after breastfeeding him to bed, after kissing him "I love you", I would hide behind my computer and just draw. I am now an author of 2 published comic books sold in Asia. My comics are inspired by my life after marriage and kids. It takes me about 2-3 hours to complete each comic, but it's the idea, delivery method and the punchline that are the most important. With a full time job, a 22m toddler who does the exact opposite of what I say, and trying to meet publishing deadlines twice a week, I barely have time to sleep. But this is all worth it. I hope my comics bring laughters to parents who are experiencing tough days (or good ones if applicable...); I want them to know that they are not alone.
