I spend a lot of time photographing insects - some in the wild - some I bring home to take studio portraits (I let them go afterwards). I like to show people, that when it comes to the insect-world, it is not just butterflies, that are beautiful. I started doing this about 10 years ago, when I felt I needed new challenges after having been an avid birdwatcher for more than 30 years. Unless I went of a long travel, it could take years before I saw a species I hadn't seen before. So I took up insect-watching as well. It has even paid of in a scientific way. Together with a like minded friend, I have found at least a dozen species never seen before in my home-country of Denmark.
