Ten years ago a younger version of me tried to create the biggest image in the world, which was a hommage for the girfriend I had back then. I painted it with oil and a lot of other ingredients deep in a dark cellar. After living for half a year in this cellar it was time to make a really high resolution image of this masterpiece (probably one of the highest resolution images 10 years ago). I bought the most expensive canon monster camera (10'000 bucks) and a really powerful macro lens. Equiped with that I put the masterpiece under a CNC machine and took 32'000 images in 2 weeks of painful day and night manual labor. With a bit more computer knowledge, this task could have been programmed easily, but at this point in time and space, I was just not clever enough. The skill I lacked in coding, I made up with motivation. Those images needed to get stitched together and I wanted to create a website, on which you can buy a piece of this artwork. But my skills in coding where just too bad and so problems started. I couldn't find anyone to help me with the website of this project. And by that time, my relationship of 8 years also came to an abrupt ending. I drowned my sorrow in alcohol and as time passed by, I slowly forgot about the project.
10 years later I stumbled upon the 2000 GByte of data, and I thought to myself: Probably I should do it now? The last 10 years i spent coding at different startups and my skills have greatly improved. I was ready to take the challenge. It only took a little bit over 1000 hours of coding and testing to finally release the project into the wild. Now I can proudly claim that I did it and I hope someone out there enjoys this insanity.
I LAUGH YOU!
