All my life, I've been wanting to tell my story to the world. In 2020, I decided that it was time to start the biggest project I'd ever slingshot into the world: The Singularian Grimoire Anthologies.
I wanted my story to be an experience rather than "just" a book. Looking at examples from games like Destiny 2, Skyrim, and Outriders, I wanted my readers to delve deeper into the lore behind the story. I wanted them to discover things for themselves, to solve problems as part of the reading experience.
Soon after, the first episode of The Singularian was born and the concept of monthly episodes with collections of short stories, illustrations, and riddles to solve took off. Starting at a point where Sovren, the main character of the series, discovers he does not recognize the world around him, the narrative begins with him trying to find lost memories "Memento-style". Every episode focuses on characters who tell the story from their point of view: how did the world become the way it is? Why did 2/3 of humanity die? What are these half-beast creatures that now roam the earth and where do they come from? And how is Sovren involved in all this?
The series makes use of hidden messages throughout the narrative. Sometimes, they are hidden in the text, sometimes hints are hidden within the illustrations. Other times you can decipher a password/key that you need to use on the website ( https://www.thesingularian.net ) behind the series to unlock hidden content, etc.
No surprise that a project like this takes up more than 100 hours per month... And this is not even my actual day job!
A lot of the process behind the stories and illustrations can be followed on YouTube through SpeedPainting videos and author vid-docs. I am always happy to answer questions of fans, people who are interested in how I make my artwork, or in general; people who want to know more about what I do. Don't be afraid to stop by and hi!
Did you know you can download a free copy of one of the episodes on the website? Go ahead and have look!

The Anatomy of a Singularian

How it's made: A cyborg connected to a HUGE network, from sketch to finished piece in 8 minutes.
Crow is a Splice; a genetically enhanced murder-machine... but he's actually a good guy.

How it's made: When a Singularian breaks his internal machinery, thank goodness there are still people around who can fix him!
It's not Big Brother but Big Sister who's watching you. H.E.L.A. is a super computer, and the mind behind the entire Singularian design.

Each season has its own casting poster... Yes, I'm talking about seasons! After a breaking success of season 1, season 2 is already in full swing!

Some piece and quiet... something my characters find more ofter than I do myself...
