If you haven't seen the movie "The Bill Murray Stories" I highly recommend it. It's quite inspiring. So inspiring in fact, that my friend told me that he was going to start "A Bill Murray Shrine - to remind us every day to live more like Bill Murray!" (Watch the movie, you'll understand).
The person who said this to me is the person whom I consider responsible for starting my daily art ritual (over 2,500 days in a row now), and he hadn't found the right image just yet. His wife messaged me and explained that this movie actually brought her husband out of a funk, so she'd like to commission me to paint a Bill Murray portrait inspired by the documentary.
While I do paint any/every thing, my absolute favorite things to create are personalized commissions. I watched the film and instantly thought "An Angel Amongst Us" - as the movie reveals how Bill Murray goes around surprising us mere mortals with acts of randomness that bring joy (e.g. he'll crash a house party, and do the dishes).
I know it's a bit cliche, but Angel Wings are the easiest way to portray an Angel. I gave Bill a Ukulele for 2 reasons:
1)It's totally random, just like the things that Bill does.
2)As I mentioned, I love painting things that are personal, and my buddy does in fact play the Ukulele.
I had to drop everything I was doing to get this done on time, and I told my buddy's wife that getting a blindfold is so much easier than giftwrapping a 30"x40" stretched canvas!
She removed the blindfold at his birthday, and the painting met my golden standard: Tears!
I'm now trying to get a copy to Bill Murray himself, since he brings so much joy to everyone, I'd like to bring some to him... And that's why I'm sharing this here, because Bored Panda has brought me so much joy and inspiration, I'd like to give back. Hope you enjoy this.

Here's a closeup, because you can't see all the detail of a 30"x40" on a computer / phone / tablet.
