Paintings by Darren Reid. I paint highly detailed realist paintings of urban landscapes. Working in acrylics, each painting can take up to 400 hours to complete. Painting every blade of grass, stone or pebble, painstakingly building the image up over weeks and months until eventually realizing the finished painting.
Although photographic in composition when completed the paintings are never actually a reproduction of a single scene but are composite images aiming to recreate the feel and mood of a place experienced by myself.
