I Paint Flowers From Nature

Spring time is my favorite because I can paint flowers from nature. I like wildflowers the most, but I also look forward to the first flowers that bloom in my garden.

It is great fun when I can put a small bouquet on my window and use natural light to paint the flowers that I really see them. I paint from nature, not from photographs. This is my daily exercise. Sometimes it's just a quick sketch, because the flowers are dying fast. I always choose flowers that are not perfect, are slightly curved, twisted or faded, because imperfection is hidden in individuality.
