My family owns a wedding facility in Southern California. I've worked over 2000 weddings. He's neutral, so be bold, but not overly sexy. I've seen so many wedding guests who look great for an hour or so, but those stilettos and ultra tight dresses start to wear a person down, especially in the heat, not a good look. If it's a late summer wedding and it's going to be hot, wear a dress that is light and breathable so you can remain physically comfortable all day. It'll make your new guy impressed with your cool composure. As long as you're not wearing the dominant color used by the bridal party, you're good. Most couples have a website, instagram or whatever associated with the event, do some digging and go with what compliments you personally and doesn't conflict with what the wedding party is doing. Look at the invitations, usually the bridesmaids are wearing a color that's featured in the invite. Most importantly: be comfortable, when the drinking and dancing starts, you want to be the girl who can still stand in her shoes and dance without sweating her spanks off.
