I made this movie because I wanted to touch the issue of cultural negativity around our periods and shame that is often associated with menstrual cycle. I came to realize that in order to heal the wounded feminine (which is deeply rooted within our psyche) and restore balance between the two opposites (masculine and feminine), we must learn how to fully embrace all aspects of the feminine.
If we want to help our Mother Earth, we must awaken within us more of the values that are associated with the divine feminine principle (intuition, spirituality over mind and emotions and empathy over logic and profit). And that starts with changing our attitude towards the core of our femininity – the menstrual cycle.
Learning about true powers of my own cycle, I started to plan and live my life in harmony with my cycle, listening and respecting the needs of my body and soul. I got in touched with suppressed woman within me and began to truly love and respect feminine nature.
It pains me to know that so many of women have hate relationship with their periods. That gave me the inspiration to create very special Menstrual Cycle Journal, that is coming to Kickstarter on the 14th of November. I want to spread the awareness that our bleeding times, along with the rest of our cycles are our POWER and not our weakness.
I too hated my periods until I learned the secret:
I hated my periods. I was afraid to go anywhere without packing my painkillers in case if I get it. I have had extremely painful periods (except for the years I was on the Pill), until I came across true feminine wisdom teachers.
That encouraged me to start conscious menstruating and getting to know all my cyclic powers. Searching for answers within myself, I have come to realization that my painful periods were rooted in denial of my femaleness deep in my consciousness and my negative ideas about what it means being a woman.
By the teachings of Taoism, women experience the major loss of energy through menstruation. And then it hit me that I never wanted to stop and rest during my bleeding times – I mean who stops for that!? I never heard any woman around me say, that they need to take some rest in spite of being in pain themselves.
This is how far society has brought us… We overwrite the needs of our bodies and our feelings and then we wonder why there are diseases of female reproduction systems so much on the rise. We are just being “good women” and ignore the needs of our bodies and souls do to the social pressure and demands we put on yourself.
Nobody taught us better:
You see, my dear woman, nobody taught us, that our body is constantly changing and there are times during month, that it needs more rest in order for it to stay healthy and strong. Due to constant changes of the levels of our hormones, our energy levels, moods and physical attributes are also periodically shifting.
But why didn’t we learn any of that in school? Instead of addressing it just from some biological facts that didn’t feel like it had anything to do with us… That knowledge certainly did not empower me.
How I healed my painful periods:
When I stopped ignoring my bodily needs and started to respect my feminine body temple, I healed my very painful periods. I still feel some pain some times during the first day of receiving my period, but never for more than 2 hours. I use that special time to visualize, gain insight and receive ideas in my meditations, because that is the time that our subconscious is naturally the most open to the universal frequencies of oneness.
By tracking my cycle, I have learned what activities to do in certain times that my body and psyche supports the most. That knowledge changed my life. I have more energy, I am much more productive and I finally feel that I understand what true femininity is. I have healed suppressed women in me and that is what I wish that every woman can do for herself.
How do you make your cycle work for YOU?
The answer is actually very SIMPLE! You just need to get to know your unique abilities and when in the cycle are they the most powerful. That gives you leverage to do RIGHT activities at the RIGHT time of your cycle.
For instance: your bleeding times are the best times for receiving an idea and insight of your subconscious because menstruation puts you in a natural meditative state - that is the time that you subconscious is naturally the most open to the universal frequencies of oneness.
Your ovulation days are days, when your charm and seductive abilities are at your highest. You can best use this times for straightening and building your relationship or attracting a new partner.
So, if you want to heal your relationship with the core of your femininity and release all of your powers, you must get to know your unique abilities first - by tracking your energy levels, aptitudes and attitudes during different parts of your cycle.
