I started making these unconventional sculptures, dolls how I like to call them, because I wanted to see the characters from my oil paintings "alive" and to stand next to them. I made them from old mannequins and ordinary objects that I found around the house, in junk markets or at the hardware store, and after changing their form, I covered them in paper mache and recycled everything into art.
It took me about 3 months, for a pair, to complete and I made about 3 series. I thought it would be cool to use all sort of objects, many of them were junk, good to throw out, like old pieces of wood, bicycle parts and all sort of plastic and metal junk.
Most of them are already sold, but the last pair (the one with the big belly spirals) awaits patiently in a very small, but cosy coffee shop. So If you want to see them, look for T-Zero Coffee Shop in Bucharest!
