Using a lot of paper, and lot more hours designing and cutting paper, and even more efforts pasting it all together, I made these portraits as realistic as possible. And fell in love with it that I do this full-time now.

Multi-colored papercut portraits

I've started making colored portraits with flashy colors and choosing proper portraits to minimalize complexities, at the start.

When photography meets Papercut artist: Atlanta Aquarium

A picture clicked at the Atlanta Aquarium, completely blue throughout, has given me the thought to attempt to make a portrait of a silhouette photograph for the first time

Papers of blue tones, cut, stacked and pasted on each other

The details in this artwork, after being posterized are still intact. And I've tried to align the sheets precisely to give the required shades and tints in the image.

Pic credits: halftonepro website, and I've cut this picture of a puppy out of a single sheet, making mistakes and mending them parallelly to not lose the final feel of the image.

Single layered Papercutting of a city map: Credits Google maps

The main centre of the Pune city, with a remarkable shaped river that every punekar knows, I've cut the streets and highways onto a single layer of black paper and framed it in a suitable white frame with double glass wrapping the artwork.

Detailed paper cutting of a snapshot of Google maps

Extremely delicate details of every street and lane on maps, cut systematically and patiently. This has turned out to be more difficult than I expected and more awesome than I anticipated.

Clubbing everything together, I've made a life sized piece

The detailing was the primary motto in this artwork, and I've been never so patient and desperate for precision.

And finally, 9 sheets of paper turned into a life-sized portrait of a baby

A life-sized portrait of a full-size of A2, 16.5 x 23.4 inches, took me about a complete week to cut, align, verify and paste the 9 layers together leaving no mistakes at all. This I'd consider to be my ultimate masterpiece till date.
