One year ago, I discovered a little sea animals called Nudibranchs. I fell in love with them.
Since that moment I started to create characters based on them.
I made this fantasy underwater world called "Lanthana" using nudibranchs and other little sea animals as source of inspiration because I wanted to make a fun and easy way for people to know more about the marine life in our world and to feel the same fascination that i felt with i discovered the beauty and wonderful nudibranchs, squids, anemones, jellyfish, seahorses and how they live. If we know more about the life in our oceans, we will be more capable to protect them.
If you like one character, you can search with the scintific name which real animal is behin that character and learn about it.
It took around one week to complete one full watercolor for this project. Each full illustration watercolor is 72 x 26,5 cm. Some character designs are done in digital.
I wanted to make an original magical world inspired by RPG's, so all the characters are wizards, knights, priests, explorers...there are a lot of professions that you can find in any RPG game.
Now i'm working to print a book with a lot of diferents characters to share with everyone this fantasy world i'm creating. I hope you enjoy it and love the seas!
