I made this book thinking about all of the young girls that are growing up like I did, in conflict with the whole "princess" concept. Why are girls called princesses all of the time? I was never as feminine as any princess (real or fiction). My favorite color was never pink. And I never really wanted to be famous like one.
A princess is: the daughter of a monarch; a very rich person; usually famous; has all the best clothes and is always looking pretty; an example of femininity (or is it?).
Should anyone center an entire childhood around this concept though? So many other places my imagination could visit and help me value what’s really important: family, friends, compassion for others.
I hope this book may help empower young girls and deliver a positive message to new generations. No need to be princesses to be happy!
