I’ve spent the past four years working on The Period Game, a menstruation board game that is designed to help kids understand what’s happening in the menstruating body and make them more comfortable saying words like “period” and “tampon.” Plus, it's got spinnable ovaries!
I’ve seen 8th graders who have weekly Sex Ed classes, but never learned about periods or PMS, and recent stats show 48% of people hadn’t had a conversation about periods or knew what to expect prior to their first one. It’s time to do better.
