In the Northern state Chihuahua I taught German in a private Mennonite school. 4 years I live in a small town, called Ciudad Cuauhtemóc. I´ve seen a lot of men with cowboy hats and boots. Shops sold them through the town everywhere. I couldn´t count them on ten fingers.
The indigenous Tarahumaras live deep in the mountains and came to work on the fields. The women wear colorful dresses and sandals made of old car tires. They can run long distances very easily. So they win often marathons. The life was quite laid-back and time ran slow.
The time there was a huge challenge but it expanded my horizon.
Out of my way... I'm landing in the wild west of Mexico

On the "Zocalo" in the heart of the town
